Clouded leopard water color on black paper. This was my first black paper watercolor so i bought the most expensive best quality black paper i could find. BIG MISTAKE! that paper sucked in paint like a sponge! i had to paint over every line and brush stroke at least 3 times before it stayed on the surface!!! I now use canson paper Its only about 2 bucks a sheet and works perfectly! .........Live and learn........
The troublesome paper did not interfere with your ability to do awesome detail work. I love how I can see the texture of the fur, ferns, and moss. The paper seems to have imparted a light fog, or mist effect over the entire image, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Very beautiful work, thank you for sharing!
A clouded leopard, and it sure looks clouded! The misty effect you've achieved (whether on purpose or dues to the paper) is really good and the vegetation is beautiful. The misty look makes the place seem very real - as if I'm in the rainforest myself. Beautiful markings on the leopard too. Great work, good paper or bad!
